Company History
Project Design Services Ltd can trace its roots back to 1992 when Phil Dodd first began as an independent Consulting Engineer in the field of Building Services, forming Project Design Services Ltd and offering an independent consultancy service in the building services field, with particular emphasis on integration and good design.
With the changes to the Building Regulations in 2006, we have expanded our expertise to include compliance with the new Part L of the 2006 Building Regulations, something that is becoming more in demand as the full impact of the regulations is felt. We utilise several Government approved software packages that allow us to model buildings and determine carbon emissions from planning drawings. The output reports can be submitted to Building Control along with the planning drawings, allowing the Architect to obtain planning approval including the requirements of Part L at the beginning of the project.
When energy performance certificates (EPC’s) and display energy certificates (DEC’s) for public buildings were introduced in 2008, Project Design Services Ltd were the first company in Oxfordshire to train an accredited energy assessor for EPCs and the first in the South of England to train an accredited assessor for DECs. This demonstrates our commitment to remain at the forefront in the field of energy assessments.
Project Design Services Ltd is also training Engineers to become air conditioning inspectors to help clients comply with the new regulations governing air conditioning systems that are being phased in over the next two years.
All of this experience within the company is being brought to bear on our clients problems with energy efficiency and carbon emissions. Our experience of energy surveys and audits allow us to focus in on areas within a business where easy no cost and low cost changes can be made to reduce energy bills. Our experience working with the Carbon Trust ensures that we can obtain the best funding available to assist with financing energy efficiency schemes.
We believe through innovative, electronic delivery systems and effective communications between all parties to encourage harmonious integrated team working that achieves a high quality product, whatever the field, delivered on time and budget.
Our objective is to reduce carbon emissions and save our clients energy and money with the minimum financial outlay, through innovative thinking and practical solutions.
